10y+x=10x+y+36 (transpose 10x,y to the other side.)
10y+x-10x-y=36

9y+9x=90
9y-9x=36

18y/18 =126/18
y =7


y(10)+x=10
10y+x=10
y-36

3+y=10
y=10-3 (transpose 3 to the other side)
y=7
x+7=10
x=10-7 (transpose 7 to the other side)
x=3

Therefore, the digits are 37 (original) and 73(reversed)

First identify the variables.

a+1 - age of Abby next year
b+1 - age of Joeric next year

a=7+b
a+1=1+2(b+1)
a+1=1+2b+2
a+1+2b+3

7+5+1=2b+3
b+8=2b+3 (transpose 3 to the other side) (transpose b to the other side)
8-3=2b-b
5=5

a=7+5
a=12 years old

Abby is 12 years old while Joeric is 5 years old.
